Languages and Writings in China:Han have their own language and writing which are called Chinese. It is the official language of the country and one of the languages usually used in the international community. The area where we speak Chinese is divided into seven under-areas of dialects subdivided in their turn in addition to 100. These languages played a particular role in the formation and the development of the Chinese nation. Significant components of the brilliant Chinese culture, they conceal a special cultural value. Hui and Mandchous speaks and writes Chinese. The 53 other minority ethnos groups speak their own language. In general, an ethnos group speaks only one language, but some speak two or more. According to statistics, China currently counts 72 ethniques languages others than Chinese. With regard to the families of the languages used in China, Korean and the language jing are not catalogued yet; the others belong to the sino-tibétaine families, altaïc, austronésienne, austro-Asian and Indo-European. In 2003, the ethnic autonomous areas counted 122 units of broadcasting which diffused in 15 ethnic languages, and 111 units of television which gave emissions in 11 ethnic languages. They had 73 radio stations with 532 stations of transmission, 94 television broadcast stations with 830 channels, and 254 900 stations of reception or retransmission per satellite for broadcasting and television. During sessions of the Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, of the national popular Parliament and political advisory Conference of the Chinese people, we provide the documents and the simultaneous translations in mongolian, tibétain, ouïgour, kazakh, korean, yi and zhuang. The writings of the ethnic groups mongolian, tibétaine, ouïgoure, kazakh, kirghiz, korean, yi, dai, lahu, jingpo, xibo and Russian have their long history. |
